Week of Science and Technology is an event promoted by the European Commission since 2001 to be held throughout Europe during the month of November with the aim of showing the public how attractive the reality of science and people who make it possible.
In the Region of Murcia, the SECYT reaches its tenth edition organized by the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research through the Seneca Foundation of Science and Technology Agency of the Region of Murcia and with the collaboration of universities, research centers, hospitals, schools, educational centers technological, business associations, science centers dedicated to recreation, theater companies ... until a total of 60 national and international institutions and over 400 people who make the SECYT. Develop all your strengths so that visitors can interact in different rooms, attending the theater, enjoy the shows and marvel at the unexpected events that take place nowadays.
A set of nearly three hundred are ready to develop activities for the SECYT '10 at the Botanical Garden Pier including theater, workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations scientific, etc., getting to transform this space into a science theme park for all ages.
In the center of Murcia SECYT '10 are the scientists themselves, who are in direct contact with the public to stimulate reflection, discussion and public debate on scientific activity and its impact in our society, while generating new vocations to science and technology, especially among youth.
Finally, coinciding with the declaration of 2010 as "Year International Biological Diversity "by the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Seneca Foundation of Science and Technology Agency of the Region of Murcia has developed a program of activities for awareness of the continuing loss of biodiversity .
